Toning down? Couldn't agree with you more.
Letting slide? I suspect that's a little unrealistic.
People are gonna notice things changing, and they're bound to ask about them.
You're not obliged to answer, of course (though you're usually quite good about it.)
But if you expect people to think, "Ah, the Dead shows dropped from 2600 to 2500, and entire runs are gone. I won't say anything" ... well, people are bound to ask.
Hopefully they'll keep it civil.

I started that whole thread about the Live Dead run, and now I feel kinda guilty. I don't think my post had an offensive tone toward anyone, or at least I hope not, that wasn't my intent. I have those shows already, so it doesn't bother me much. I think it's important to consider that most people aren't angry about not getting shows for themselves in a selfish way, but are really thinking about people who they wish to spread the music to. So they are really thinking for others. That's gotta count for something.
